The cozy family-run guest house offers a warm atmosphere, with clean vintage decor that adds a charming touch to your experience. the room was spacious enough for the three of us traveling together, and the view of the town and volcanoes from our window was simply breathtaking. The central location of Guesthouse Hamar allowed us easy access to the town's attractions, including the harbor and downtown area. We enjoyed the recommendations provided by the friendly staff for local bars and must-visit spots, adding a personal touch to our exploration of the island. Despite the absence of staff at check-in, the rooms were impeccably clean, and the heavy curtains ensured a good night's rest, shielding us from the Icelandic night light. the breakfast, though not initially included as stated, was a delightful spread of sweet and savory options that left us satisfied and ready for a day of outdoor adventures, from hiking trails to mountain climbing. For a cozy and welcoming base to explore the rugged beauty of Heimaey, Guesthouse Hamar comes highly recommended for a truly memorable Icelandic escape.
